MICROSOFT Lync 2013
VISUAL DESIGN
Extend the established Lync visual aesthetic, delivering a visually rich interaction experience for Windows 8 tablet and Windows Phone platforms.
WINDOWS 8 TABLET
Following a comprehensive visual assessment of Lync desktop and its relation to the Office brand family, I created an end-to-end visual narrative of Lync for Windows 8 tablet. Through regular collaboration with the interaction design team, I produced a unified set of visuals to enhance touch interaction and seamlessly integrate with Office and Modern design styles. Partnering with PM and developers, pixel-perfect redlines were created to ensure accurate design translation to working code.
WINDOWS PHONE
Educated on Windows Phone design requirements, I worked closely with interaction design and development to build a Modern visual style for the Lync mobile panorama. Advocating best practices for typography, color, touch targeting, visual feedback and transient notifications. I delivered detailed redlines and managed the creation of visual assets with an external design agency.
In addition, I was tasked with creating a visual solution for first release of Lync for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, incorporating elements of the brand where possible. First generation releases of these apps were closely aligned with native OS guidelines until full UX
customization was technically feasible.
